a few of my favorite things...

Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens

Okay,  you know you want to sing it....everybody now!

Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things!!

Now the song is stuck in your head. Your welcome.

But I really was just thinking about a few of my favorite things.

I know this is the season to count your blessings and ponder the things we are thankful for. And while I am truly grateful for so many deep profound and wonderful things...today I am grateful for a few of little things...like:

The voices of my children

Chik filet sauce

Dry Shampoo

Netflix

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Spotify Premium

Couch therapy with my Tribe

Speedway - Cherry Coke Cherry is my .89 freeze recipe

My flowery chair from Goodwill

Getting lost in a memory then realizing I'm smiling

Driving in the country

Cooking - but only on holidays

Not cooking most other days

My maps app

Listening to my mom play the piano

My beige Clark's - for being so cute and sensible

Books - The smell of them. How they feel in my hand. And the places they take me.

Amazon Prime

When my kids want me to listen to a cool new song and it ends up being a cover from the 80's

And yes....The Sound of Music (ya'll know you crushed on Christopher Plummer)

Oh there are so many more!!

So today and everyday I am determined to embrace the little things. My little random list actually represents relationships, time, sacrifice, bonding, connection, provision, teaching, learning, over coming fears, finding faith,  laughter and tears. It represents my life and how a Sovereign God cares about the tiniest instrinsic details of it. Often we look for the major moments and profound interventions to hear and see God's direction and provision. Listen Linda (YouTube it), God can tell me He loves me through a bottle of L'oreal foundation and pair of loafers....in fact He has. There is a beautiful still small Voice that lives in the tension of creation. He is speaking. Think of some of your favorite things. Even the smallest silliest favorite things. As you smile -- because they will make you smile -- remember you are Loved.
